Landscape Collection

Summer Sky is an Oil on Masonite 16 in. x 15 in. Summer sky is really all about the mountain. The peeks and slopes go from white to blue to purple and back again. Creating an all-encompassing mountain scens. This is in direct contrast to the blue sky that has a hint of cloud. The water reflects the mountain and has a hint of movement.

Island Just for You (16) Oil on Masonite12 in. x 6 in. www.venafrobob.com This Island is in the bottom third of the painting situated in a calm sea of blue and white and the signature sky of buff white Naples yellow touches of white clouds blending with the sea and touches of blue. The Island is awash in bright earth tones, yellow, SAP green and as interesting rock formation in the foreground. There are several access points for the explorer as well as a cove on both sides of the Island.

Island just for you (1) is an oil on masonite 24 in. x 18 in. With the signature colours of white, Naples Yellow, buff white, with prussian and horizon blue to create the sky the cloud formation draws the collectors eye to the distant horizon. The Island is covered inlush vegitationof different types and colours. There is a blend of SAP Green and prussian blue with a hint of white to bring out the light in this foliage. Earth tones are scattered throuh out the island hinting at a sustainable environment. Raw and burnt umber, yellow ochre, raw sienna round out the pallet.

Mid-Day oil onmasonite is a quiet rocky cove. The clouds belie a storm that has passed and is reflected in the water below. The mountain that surrounds the water is peppered with earth tones imbedded in the rock which reflects the blue cloudy sky.

Island just for you (2) is an oil on Masonite 10 in. x 8 in. With the signature colours of white and buff white, with Prussian and horizon blue to create the sky with a swirl of bright white interspersed with touches of buff and blue. The horizon is faintly visible as both the paleness of the sky and the distance of the horizon simply fade into each other. The Island has a cove where the explorer can safely anchor and explore both the rock formations as well as the lush vegetation of different types and colours. SAP Green and Prussian blue with a hint of white earth tones are scattered through out the island hinting at a sustainable environment. Raw and burnt umber, raw sienna round out the pallet. This painting is in a private collection.

Whisper

Island just for you (4) is an oil on Masonite 10 in. x 8 in. This Island stretches from the base of the painting straight to the horizon. It supports vegetation that will attract an explorer as the touch of yellow, SAP green, yellow ochre is prominent through out the Island. There are many rock formations with Payne’s Gray, black, and deeper earth tones of raw umber, and touch of black. The sky is active with the signature pallet of white, Naples Yellow, buff white, Prussian and horizon blue and a touch of yellow. As the sky blends into the water, we see the greenish hue created by the blending of the yellow, Naples yellow and the blue of the water. Both the sky and the water blend seamlessly into one another with just a hint of where it is. Approaching the Island is a bit tricky as the rock formations stretch out in the water. There is an inlet on the upper left side offering a spot to anchor.

A Relaxing Afternoon

Island Just For You (6) is an oil on masonite 10 in. 8 in. Island just for you (6) is oil on Masonite 10 in. x 8 in. with the signature colours of the collection white and buff white, Naples Yellow with Prussian and horizon blue to create the sky and water. I’m considering this a peninsula. Let’s start with the sky and the water. The sky takes up two-thirds of the painting. The upper part of the sky is swirling with all the colours of the pallet. Closer to the horizon the collector will notice a clear demarcation between sky and water. The water is blue with swatches of white depicting rolling waves and some blending at the horizon. The peninsula can be accessed by walking to it. At the very bottom of the painting, there is a hint of land. What is intriguing is the slope of the peninsula. There is a gentle slope on the left side leaving the collector wondering what is on the other side. All around it is a rocky shoreline with white wavelets gently coming on shore.

Immanent Storm is the second in the change-up while working on a new collection. When I start a new collection, like Island just for you I also open up another front. This is done to keep me in touch with my creative side. Immanent Storm is an oil on Masonite 20 in. x 16 in. I can categorize this as a form of impressionistic expressionism using the Impasto technique. And there is nothing subtle in this painting. The orangish-yellowish horizon is contrasted by the purplish-bluish night sky. This is all reflected in the water. The colours are vivid and very bright with a lot of drama like swirling cloud formations and water that is building to storm proportions. A collector would feel the emotion I was painting knowing that we had spent a fortnight in the early spring in the Charlevoix region of Québec, Canada. A region known for great sunrises and sunsets off the St. Lawrence River.

Immanent Storm

To order this miniature I use a code - #O 19-20-21. This Triptych Oil on Masonite (3 x 9in.x3in.) has a bright blue sky with bright white clouds moving past the mountain. The mountain positioned in the middle third of the painting is a blend of blue and green. The bottom third is a blend of yellow and swatches of blue creating a light green effect. The land part of the triptych has dark lines strategically placed to highlight the differences in the terrain.

#O 19-20-21

The Sound of the Mountain (this piece is number 1) collection was my third collection. They are mostly Oil on Masonite. This piece is 12 in. x 10 in. The pallet is white, cerulean or cobalt blue, indigo, black, and in some paintings hints of Prussian blue. The best way to characterize the Sound of the mountain collection is one that brings the collector to sensing that the mountain or mountain range is floating in its environment and in time. You almost want to pick up the mountain and move it to a space where you can enjoy it, always. They are often described as moody yet very calming.

The sound of the Mountain (6) shows tops of mountains that seem to be floatingin the sky. With blues in the sky and clouds of white the mountain is in shades of Indigo, paynes gray, prussian blue and a hint of magenta.

Fire Mountain is an Oil on Masonite 11 in. x 4 in. By my third collection I was moving into interpreting landscapes and using vibrant colours. The rich oranges, reds and purple gave life and structure to the mountain range.

Acrylic Mixed Medium on Canvas 36 in. x 18 in. is a winter forest scene. A walk at this time in the forest will be a walk with whisps of blowing snow. Populated with a large number of tree trunks dappled with snow cover you would be blazing a new trail. There is a hint of uneven terrain.
