Artistic Process
Welcome to My Gallery
I move fluidly between large-scale and miniature works, exploring how each reveals different facets of the same creative tension—scale, intimacy, and impact. My current body of work, which I call "Ipseity" has evolved over the last five years. Including my last two collections, place became metaphor: a forested island, a snow-capped range—each image or memory overlapping with imagination to express "Selfhood".
Working in both impressionism and abstraction, I often blur their boundaries. Each allows me to evoke a sense of liminality—those in-between states where perception and transformation meet.
I work primarily in oils, occasionally in acrylics, using both knife and brush. The tactile quality of impasto—especially in larger works—contrasts with the precision and intimacy of my miniatures. Surfaces range from traditional canvas to wood panels and, more recently, archival papers prepared with clear gesso.
Though rooted in concept, the real meaning emerges through the act of painting itself. That moment of discovery—shared between artist and
viewer—is where the work comes fully alive.
Though I am creating art, I am evoking an emotion.

I see through the seasons.
